Excellent course and the people are so friendly and accommodating. Great views and challenging greens. They obviously care about maintenance and keep everything pristine. Prices are affordable with carts that actually are in great shape.

Very very scenic, what a beautiful location. Was almost empty Sunday at 1:00, so was able to play alone at whatever pace I would have liked. Greens were fairly slow but rolled true, and with significant undulations, making them pretty challenging. Rough was thick and difficult in spots. Could use some better course marking regarding which side of each hole carts should stay and where the next tee is. Very bumpy terrain everywhere and with few smooth cart paths, but this added to the rustic ADK feeling in my opinion. Really enjoyed the afternoon playing here.

Craig Wood is a very scenic and challenging golf course near Lake Placid, NY. The conditions at the course are very good, especially the greens. It is also one of the more affordable courses in the Lake Placid area. The course was named after Masters and US Open winner Craig Wood. If you're playing it for the first time, it is pretty clear that local knowledge is necessary as the greens are hilly and have some speed. It is definitely hard to chip and putt downhill at this course. For course design, the front nine is fairly wide open and the back nine is a little bit tighter. The staff is friendly and they have a well stocked pro shop. The restaurant is also pretty good. Pace of play can be an issue at this course as many people play it. Course should work on improving pace of play as much as possible.
