Great river system that has unfortunately been degraded severely in sections by pollution, dams, and development. Still a great habitat for many species both swimming in itand being directly or indirectly dependant on it. More state and federal money needs to be spent protecting it.

I've had some of the best times of my life here spending time with family and friends. So much fun. The scenery is beautiful. I love picnicking here. So much to do.

Very nice hiking trails and camping shelters/tent sites VERY well maintained. Tropical storm left a lot of down trees in Connecticut.... making it a challenge on the trail...
