The Rock Harbor Lighthouse has a great museum inside welcome to all Isle Royale guests. Tonkin Harbor is a great place to find premium cliff jumping spots! We spent the night on the adjacent, Caribou Island; which has two shelters and a fire ring.

If you go inside, make sure the door handle is working from the inside before you go in. I almost got locked inside, and had to fix the door handle to get out 😅

The hike from the shore is 5 minutes. To get to the island you'll have to rent a kayak or boat. I highly highly recommend going here!

The Rock Harbor Lighthouse is a lovely historic stop if you happen to be in the area. While you cannot climb to the top of the tower anymore, the building is equipped with a small museum discussing the boating history of the entire park, most notable the shipwrecks. The museum features historic articles, old ships logs, maps of locations, and artifacts retrieved from actual wrecks before they implemented rules disallowing it. Lovely place to spend time and learn!

Beautiful lighthouse that can be seen from trail or boat rides between Rock Harbor and Daisy Farm. Outstanding natural setting.
