My friends and I came to see the Highland Cows and honestly felt a little let down. The walk there is about a mile downhill, and it’s really just a lecture while you see some cows from a shorter distance than if you were to drive by. Farmer Poach was an incredible and interesting speaker, but I don’t think it’s an experience I would do again. Thank you Farmer Poach for your incredible expertise!

We booked the Von Trapp History Tour for $18 per person. We went at 9am to get tickets for the 11am - you have to get tickets the day of; especially if you are not a hotel guest. The tour was underwhelming. The tour guide talks to you about the family in a ballroom and then you go see the graveyard. This was then followed by watching a BBC documentary about Maria . My biggest complaint is that this wasn't a tour at all. There was no tour of the grounds or explanation of when things were built or where the original farm was. Moreover, the initial part significantly needs improvement. Why weren't there visual aides? You see all of these pictures in the hallways- why aren't they shown during the "tour"?!? Also, the guide discussed all of the memoir books which are available in the gift shop, why didn't she show us the books?!? Or read excerpts? This tour seriously needs an update. Consider adding audiovisual updates

Beautiful. Beautiful location with grand views. We had an amazing lunch. The host, Tim, was lovely, kind, and helpful. Our waitress was great, and the service was excellent. The only bummer was the other waitress was not having a good day and made sure everyone, co- workers and guests knew it.

This place becomes famous because of its story and heritage. To know it’s story, you have to know the movie “The Sound of Music”, and its filming location was Salzburg. The prototype of the movie migrated from Europe to this place. To memorize their hometown, they built this place like salzburg. It’s currently a small hotel, and periodically the waiters will introduce the story of Sound of Music, and bring you back to the European life.
