Had a great time skiing here! The weather cooperated in early February - cold but sunny. Natural snow + blowers going. So many runs, well maintained lifts, nice employees, plenty of parking and affordable. Lesson coaches were great with the little ones, especially Chris. We mostly stayed in the Bear Den area for my son. By the end of the first day he was going up and down green runs by himself. Rentals and lift tickets were a breeze. Good equipment. Buy lift tickets a few weeks out to save money. I look forward to coming back again another season. Only downside is that everything shuts down by 4pm; no night skiing. They do so to limit light pollution in the Adirondacks.

This was our 2nd family trip to Whiteface. The family really enjoyed the experience. It was a Monday early in the season, so it wasn't crowded at all. All the beginners' runs were open, and there was a decent base. My only complaint is that the lodge was cold and desperately needs a fireplace.

This is a very exhilarating and awe-inspiring place to visit! You will be blown away by the majestic and breathtaking beauty of nature.
Please note that there is a fee to get in. When I went, it was $20 per person, up to a certain number of people, then there is some type of discount. There was also quite a bit of waiting in traffic due to said entrance fee payment.
The drive up the mountain to the parking area was quite intriguing and super beautiful!
However, upon arriving at the parking area, you can find yourself sitting in traffic for another up to 10 minutes before being directed to park. All this, of course, depends on what time of year yo go.
The hike to the top of the mountain may very well be one of your best hiking experiences. It is, however, quite steep and not for the faint of heart. There are adequate handrails, though, to ensure some level of safety. Lake Placid can be seen from the top, along with beautiful cloud and land formations.
Overall, this was well worth the trip.

The views are amazing from here! You can see many of the high peaks and beautiful views of Lake Placid. They have a nice modern setup with fast lifts getting you up the mountain. They have some delicious Polish food at the Legacy Lodge and some pretty good food at the base Lodge, too. The gondola is a really nice lift that is comfortable with the new cabins they put on a few years ago. Definitely recommend checking out the Wilmington Trail. You'll get great views and a very long blue trail.

We visited in the fall and enjoyed the scenery from the gondola ride to the top of the mountain. Gorgeous fall colors and a very smooth ride. We didn’t have a wait and were able to take beautiful pictures of our family at the top. Definitely a highlight of our trip and was included in our legacy pass.
