About the founder
Eric Crews.
Founder, writer, editor, and explorer
Two decades spent telling outdoor stories, building adventure brands, and finding better ways to connect people with wild places.
The long way here
Storytelling was always the trailhead.
Eric Crews is the founder of The Adventure Collective and the Adventure Collective Network, a collaborative platform dedicated to outdoor adventure, responsible travel, and the spirit of exploration that connects people to wild places.
After graduating from Appalachian State University in 2005, he began writing and producing outdoor stories for publications including Blue Ridge Outdoors, Climbing Magazine, WNC Magazine, Mountain Xpress, and Capital at Play. That early work centered on the Blue Ridge Mountains—the people, landscapes, and local knowledge that make the region an enduring outdoor destination.
He later founded Land of Sky Media and M2S Bikes, carrying the same editorial instincts into visual media, product development, and adventure-focused entrepreneurship. Today, he leads The Adventure Collective from Asheville while continuing to explore the mountains and rivers of the Southern Appalachians.
