Double-Decker Fun at Peanut Island: Private Pontoon Charters in Jupiter, FL

Hop on a sun-bright double-decker pontoon and cut loose along Jupiter’s coastal sweep — this private charter out of Jupiter, Florida, is built for groups that want equal parts calm cruising and splash-ready fun. The experience centers on Peanut Island, a compact offshore patch of sand and seagrass reachable only by boat, and the surrounding Intracoastal waters that frame Jupiter’s shore. A local captain, born and raised in Jupiter, guides the route, pointing out favored sandbars, shallow swimming holes, and quiet anchorages where the water turns clear and warm. The boat itself is a 28-foot double-decker pontoon with room for up to twelve guests; it’s laid out for social days on the water with lounge seating, an upper observation deck for breezy views, and a built-in slide that dumps you straight into the surf. Families and mixed-age groups appreciate the flexibility — sunbathers and photographers take the top deck, while swimmers and kids gravitate to the ladder and slide. Safety is framed by US Coast Guard regulations and a captain who knows local currents, so you can relax without giving up responsible seamanship. Typical outings run three to eight hours, with weekday departures available across the day and weekend slots split into morning and afternoon blocks. Expect a customizable rhythm: beach time at Peanut Island, slow cruising past mangrove-lined channels, and stops at sandbars where the tide sculpts shallow pools perfect for wading and shelling. Keep an eye out for seagrass beds that support juvenile fish, and for shorebirds feeding along the flats. Practical details: the meeting point is provided after booking confirmation, and charters are weather-dependent. Bring reef-safe sunscreen, a waterproof phone case, and a light windbreaker for the upper deck. If you want extra privacy, book a weekday morning when fewer boats are on the water; weekend trips capture a livelier scene with more social anchoring at popular swimming spots. What makes this trip stand out is the combination of a locally guided route and a platform designed for communal fun — the slide and double-decker layout encourage play and vantage-point photography while keeping the group together. For visitors to Jupiter, this charter turns the region’s coastal geology—sandbars, seagrass flats, and mangrove fingers—into a daylong playground. Message the operator to tailor timings and stops, and be ready to collect sun, salt, and small, stubborn smiles. Consider packing a small cooler with ice, water, and snacks to extend your comfort between stops. If you plan to snorkel, bring reef-safe biodegradable lotion and a mask — the shallow pockets adjacent to seagrass beds are the best beginner-friendly spots. Book early for holiday weekends, and ask about custom routes for celebrations or sunset cruises to catch the low light over the flats often.
