Orlando often conjures images of theme parks and bustling city streets, but just a few miles from downtown lies a surprisingly peaceful haven for water lovers: Lake Ivanhoe. This spring-fed lake offers a unique urban paddleboarding and clear kayaking experience that blends cityscape views with nature’s quiet charm. The Urban Clear Kayak or Paddleboard in Paradise Tour welcomes beginners and families alike to explore Orlando’s waters in a way few expect—on transparent kayaks and paddleboards that invite you to see the clear, calm depths beneath your board.
Meeting at Epic Paddle Adventures on 1600 North Orange Avenue, guests embark on a two-hour guided journey across Lake Ivanhoe, a stretch of water famed for being gator-free and home to a playful family of otters. Safety and fun go hand-in-hand here—expert guides provide thorough instruction, ensuring even first-timers feel confident gliding across the lake’s glassy surface. As you paddle, downtown Orlando’s skyline rises in the distance, creating a striking contrast between urban development and natural tranquility. The route takes you under local interstates to more secluded coves where native birds, turtles, and fish are abundant.
What makes this tour special is the combination of accessibility and authenticity. The transparent kayaks lend an immersive feel, letting paddlers catch glimpses of the lake’s aquatic life while soaking up broad urban vistas. Unlike many Florida waterways, Lake Ivanhoe is safe for swimmers and families. After your paddle, the nearby Ivanhoe Village invites visitors to unwind with its vibrant restaurants, quirky shops, and friendly neighborhood atmosphere.
