Fall | Women's Night | 4-Week Intermediate Progression is an evening mountain bike coaching series based in Kelowna, running at Myra Bellevue (Crawford). Across four consecutive Mondays beginning September 7, certified coaches guide intermediate riders through focused two hour sessions (5–7 PM) that emphasize speed, technical features, and confident trail craft. The curriculum uses the distinct Okanagan terrain: open pine and grass slopes, exposed rocky benches, slabby rock, and tight singletrack that rewards good line choice and momentum.
Small cohorts (maximum six) let coaches deliver progressive drills that translate to real trail sections. Sessions begin with technique work —body position, pedal timing, and gear selection—then move to linked terrain where participants practice cornering, rollable drops, steep slab riding, and line choice under coached feedback. Myra Bellevue (Crawford) functions as a practical skills classroom, offering rock shelves and technical features unlike softer loam trails elsewhere in the valley.
The program can adapt: coaches may shift to Lake Country Bike Park or Smith Creek for variety, and participants are notified in advance. This is an all‑women learning environment designed to be encouraging, unpressured, and focused on measurable progression. A School of MTB waiver is required, minimum age is 16, and a three person minimum ensures the program proceeds.
Practical requirements include a well maintained mountain bike with hydraulic disc brakes, functioning multi speed drivetrain, and front suspension (full suspension recommended). Riders must wear a properly fitted helmet, closed toe shoes, and bring hydration, spare tube, and a light jacket for cool fall evenings.
The series plugs into Kelowna’s active trail culture, reinforcing volunteer stewardship and low impact trail etiquette. Coaches emphasize riding within limits, basic trail repair, and self sufficiency, skills that keep the network sustainable. The region sits within the traditional territory of the Syilx (Okanagan) peoples, a cultural context riders are asked to respect.
Wildlife sightings tend to be quiet: raptors overhead, red squirrels, and jackrabbits along dry benches are common. Fall light and cooling temperatures sharpen rock lines, making technical practice clearer and more focused. For intermediate riders aiming to clean rocks, carry momentum, and refine cornering, this four week progression delivers targeted coaching, small groups, and on trail testing that turns intention into repeatable skill.
Evening sessions are ideal for working riders, letting students apply daytime lessons while light softens. Coaches set clear goals, track progress, and offer at home drills to continue between meetings. Expect constructive feedback, photo or video review of technique, and a follow up plan to keep gains moving forward. Because sessions ride rain or shine, prepare for variable fall weather and bring layered clothing. With dedicated coaching, supported progression, and real Okanagan rock to practice on, participants leave with tangible improvements and confidence.
Participants must be at least 16 years old to join this intermediate progression.
There is a three-person minimum; if not met you will be notified and offered a refund or an alternative camp.
