Hysterical Histories Cork is a theatre-led tour company based in Cork, County Cork, that blends comedy and local history into immersive public experiences.
The company offers two signature experiences: a “Choose your own Adventure” walking tour and a Dinner Theatre Experience at Cork’s Amicus Restaurant. The walking tour guides small groups through Cork’s streets to uncover more than 1,500 years of stories, from famous figures to rebellious episodes, with a single hilarious actor performing multiple roles and inviting audience choices. The Dinner Theatre Experience pairs local cuisine with on-stage comedy, music and interactive scenes performed by professional local actors, creating a relaxed evening of food, laughter and cultural insight.
Both experiences emphasize storytelling, historical accuracy and theatrical craft. Actors use research-informed scripts and improvisation to present accessible interpretations of Cork’s past while encouraging audience participation. The tours suit visitors and residents seeking an engaging introduction to Cork’s streets, landmarks and social history, as well as groups looking for memorable nights out with dinner and live performance.
Hysterical Histories Cork works with local venues and restaurants, including Amicus Restaurant for the dinner show, and adapts performances to different group sizes and preferences. The business is suitable for families, tourists, hen/stag parties and corporate groups who want entertaining, educational experiences. Shows teach a few Cork phrases so guests leave with newfound local language skills and stories to share. Tickets are available online or by contacting the tour operator for dates.
