Peanut Island Pontoon: Double-Decker Slide Charter from Jupiter, FL

Explore Peanut Island: Double Decker Pontoon with a Slide delivers a sun-drenched, easygoing day on the water out of Jupiter, Florida. Launching from Waterway Park in Jupiter, this private charter puts groups of up to twelve aboard a 28-foot double-decker pontoon with a slide — a shallow-draft platform that’s equal parts social deck and small-boat explorer.

A local captain, born and raised in Jupiter, pilots the route, balancing safe navigation with relaxed commentary about coastal ecology and local lore. The itinerary is flexible: drift over seagrass flats, anchor at wide sandbars for swimming and floating, or motor the short hop to Peanut Island to stretch legs, picnic, and inspect a Cold War-era bunker that hints at the island’s surprising history. The scene alternates between low, wind-scoured dunes and stands of mangroves that frame the Intracoastal Waterway and the Atlantic beyond.

Key features are immediate and tactile: sugar-fine sandbars that rise at low tide like temporary beaches; shallow, glassy flats where seagrass blades sway and juvenile fish dart; dense mangrove roots holding back the shoreline; and distant views of the Jupiter inlet and its lighthouse peeking above the treeline. Geologically the area is defined by shallow carbonate sand and shell hash deposited by currents; the boat’s shallow draft makes it possible to reach spots larger vessels must avoid.

This charter works for families, groups of friends, and anyone looking for an accessible taste of South Florida’s coastal habitats. Bring reef-safe sunscreen, a snorkel, and a reef shoe to explore the shallow reef edges and sandbar dropoffs. The double-decker’s slide is the kind of uncomplicated fun that keeps kids engaged while adults relax with ocean views and cold drinks.

Why choose this operator? The combination of a roomy, well-kept pontoon and a captain who knows local tides, sandbar locations, and quiet anchorages turns an ordinary day on the water into a curated coastal outing. The pace is unhurried; stops are chosen for swimming, snorkeling, and photos, not for a checklist.

Practical details: meet at Waterway Park in Jupiter; trips run three to eight hours depending on how many spots you want to visit. Expect calm, protected water when operating inside the inlet and slightly breezier conditions on the ocean side. For a half-day of low-key adventure with high reward, this pontoon charter is hard to beat. Plan to arrive a half hour early for check-in and flotation-device fitting; the captain provides life jackets and basic safety briefing. Pay attention to tide schedules if you want extensive sandbar time. Bring refillable water, a hat, and a waterproof bag for phones. If you hope to snorkel, check for calm seas and wear reef-safe sunscreen to protect seagrass beds and coral. Enjoy easy coastal freedom.
