This two-hour loop covers an easy 15–20 miles of mostly flat terrain with gentle rollers—enough ground to feel like a proper outing without leaving the city. The route follows engineered waterways and long stretches of the Scottsdale Greenbelt, a planned park corridor built in the late 20th century to connect neighborhoods and preserve open space amid rapid development. In places you’ll pass PGA-rated golf greens, exclusive lakeside homes, and pockets of native Sonoran flora where saguaros and prickly pear stand watch.
There’s local color here: the tour skirts Pima Tribal lands, glimpses of baseball spring-training facilities, and community parks where anglers cast on stocked lakes. Wildlife punctuates the ride—prairie dogs yip from grassy mounds and, occasionally, a bald eagle rounds a canal. Geologically, the distant mountains are ancient volcanic and metamorphic rock, folded and exposed by millions of years of uplift; up close, the urban landscape is all human-made shores and canals that reflect an arid place’s need to shape water.
Practical details matter. Guides handle navigation and narration via headsets and the route avoids streets, making the experience accessible for riders of mixed ability. Helmets and bottled water are provided; e-bikes with throttle assistance mean pedaling is optional when you want to conserve energy. Expect average speeds that cover the advertised distance in two hours—plan for sun exposure and Phoenix-level heat in summer. The company recommends canceling at least 24 hours in advance for refunds.
If you want to maximize the day, ride early to catch softer light and calmer paths, or book late-afternoon in shoulder seasons for cooler air. Stop at waterside patios in McCormick Ranch afterward—the tour routes past local gastropubs worth a post-ride meal. This is a city ride that feels like a short wilderness reset: engineered, comfortable and surprising, with enough open sky and mountain views to remind you why Arizona’s desert edges are worth exploring.
Guides typically cover between 15 and 20 miles along the Greenbelt in the two‑hour tour, with stops for photo and narration.
Yes—helmets, bottled water and audio headsets for guide narration are included in the booking.
