Shake and Serve: Mobile Mixology Classes Across Southern Michigan

Southern Michigan plays host to BarBees’ mobile mixology classes—a compact, on-site cocktail workshop that comes to your home, workplace, or event space across the region. Based around the region often called Southern Michigan, from lakeshore towns to college cities, this experience brings hands-on bartending instruction, tools, and non-alcoholic ingredients straight to your chosen meeting point.

This class centers on three simple elements: selection, technique, and service. Before the event you choose two or three signature cocktails or mocktails. Instructors arrive thirty minutes early to assemble a portable bar: shakers, strainers, glassware, fresh garnishes, and the dry goods needed to build each drink. The session runs roughly one hour for two cocktails, or ninety minutes for three—enough time to learn measuring, muddling, shaking, and plating techniques while everyone takes turns crafting drinks. The instructor cleans up afterward and leaves the space ready for the next leg of your gathering.

What makes BarBees notable in Southern Michigan is its mobility and local focus. Instead of renting a venue, you keep your group together after a hike at a nearby state park or a lakeside picnic; the class folds into an evening of outdoor recreation without interruption. Instructors can highlight regional touches—like using Michigan cherries or local craft spirits if you supply them—to connect the cocktails to the landscape and food culture of the area.

Expect a social, educational format: useful mixology tips, simple recipes you can repeat at home, and hands-on practice that demystifies professional techniques. Classes suit occasions from bachelorette parties to corporate team-builders or backyard birthdays. The format is accessible for social drinkers and sober guests alike; mocktails are an option so everyone participates.

Logistics are straightforward: BarBees brings tools and non-alcoholic ingredients; you provide spirits and a suitable workspace. There’s no fixed address—the meeting point is your chosen venue within Southern Michigan. Whether you want a lively pre-dinner activity after an afternoon on Lake Michigan’s beaches or an inside-the-house party after a long day of paddling, a mobile BarBees mixology class turns a group evening into a practical lesson and a shared memory. It’s part workshop, part celebration—clear, efficient, and geared to keep your focus on fun and flavor.

Booking is simple: choose your cocktails in advance and confirm your time and address; instructors plan their setup around your space and group's size. Classes accommodate mixed experience levels and can include mocktail versions for non-drinkers. Because BarBees brings the bar to you, plan for a flat, stable table and basic refrigeration for perishables. Cancellation policies and pricing vary—confirm details when you reserve to match your event needs.
