Brasstown Bald is celebrated for its stunning viewpoints and ecological significance, though its less dramatic geology compared to higher mountain ranges slightly limits its global iconic status.#Georgia #Hiking #BrasstownBald #AppalachianMountains #NatureTrails

Great hike from the bottom which was wonderful to do. Unfortunately the day I decided to do it, it was very overcast and foggy so I couldn't view the mountain ranges from the top. There is an awesome historical museum and visitor center at the top. Well worth doing just make sure its on a clear day.

Amazing view from top of the mountain. I went to there to experience sunrise . First you pay $5 fee at the gate by money in yellow envelope. Then you hike up there . It was not hard. It may be hard for some people. They have shuttle service in normal business hours. There is a nice museum showing about history of Georgia.

We were staying @ a VRBO in Hiawassee, and wife wanted to make the trip/climb. She had never been in the mountains, and I said nothing. It was about 38 degrees. We had a great time and a wonderful view. Very nice setup/park. Very well maintained. She was very proud of herself for the climb, not being active much less a hiker. Want to come back when it snows.

Entrance fee is $8/pp—I don’t know why some people say $5. Cards accepted. The highest point of GA with nice views from the top. The road leading up there is beautiful. We went on a Saturday afternoon and the line of cars was insane—we waited for at least an hour to get in. Honestly it would’ve been better to just turn back, like many others did. However, this is not a proper hiking trail. It’s only 0.6 miles and paved all the way true. Artificial IMO. There is a shuttle as well which can take people up to the top if they don’t want to walk, which makes it even more crowded. I guess this service is what drives up the entry fee so much. There’s a small theater with a short movie about Brasstown Bald. Staff at the visitor center are nice however the selection of food items is a joke. There’s literally nothing to eat, apart from Hershey chocolate and ice cream. No trail mix, energy bars, jerky, anything that would be even remotely nourishing. Won’t be back—there are so many other trails/hikes that are so much better and cheaper and that offer gorgeous views.

This is the highest peak in Georgia. The drive till parking is curvy. From the parking either you can trek or take the shuttle to the peak and the information center. Entry fee is 8$ per adult. The view from the peak is very beautiful. The information center has lot to see about ancient life. Small souvenir shop at the parking.
