Went on a Monday in October, and the place was absolutely bustling. The Visitor Center is pretty nice, and has clean restrooms. The paths to Old Man's Cave and Whispering Cave are pretty well-marked. Just some of them are one way (not sure if this was just a pandemic-era requirement), so respecting them gave me a lot of extra mileage on my trip from Visitor Center to Old Man's to Whispering to Cedar Falls and back. Really liked the unique bridge on the way to Old Man's Cave.

We had a great hike. Although it says easy on this one, it was quite harsh on and older man's knees. Loki did flinch a bit though! He loved it more than ever! Definitely a great place to visit for some good views.

Wow! This place was amazing. What a great hike through the canyons, bush and to see the waterfalls. Pay close attention to the trail markings. There are a few intersections of other trails. There is plenty of parking and restrooms at the visitor center. I would highly recommend arriving early. Enjoy the hike!

Hocking Hills State Park: Waterfall Edition Location: Approximately 1 hour southeast of Columbus Ohio near Logan. Hiking Summary: Explore the depths of this 150-foot Blackhand sandstone gorge cut by years of erosion caused by the Old Man’s Creek. An abundance of waterfalls, moss covered cliff faces, unique water ways and massive recess caves can be easily accessed down extremely well marked trails all within the first ½ mile. Continue down the Buckeye Trail, snaking your way through the gorge all the way down to Cedar Falls. The well mark trails, and signage along with man-made bridges, tunnels and stairs make navigation easy. Heading past Whisper Falls to Cedar Falls, enjoy some light scrambling and narrow paths hugging the edge of the creek for a nice family-friendly feeling of adventure in the wilderness without significant risk. On rainy days, proper hiking footwear is recommended as some areas will become quite muddy and slick. Hiking Details: Length: 6.7 miles (lots of side trails & side quests) Time: 4 hours (lots of wandering) Elevation gain: 530 feet Type: Gorge hiking Condition: Wet & Muddy What to Expect: Arrive early to beat the crowds. This area is frequently visited by many, eager to escape the city. Park management has done an amazing job maintaining the trails and natural beauty of the park. Unfortunately, due to the vast number of visitors each year, man made structures (e.g. bridges, walkways, fences and signage) fill the first mile of the one-way trail system designed to flow foot traffic down the gorge then up & out with the return loops along the gorge overlook trails back to the parking lot.

Kid friendly trail with restrooms and signs everywhere. Super short trail though, took me around 15 minutes to finish the trail (Not including going to the lower/upper falls) Easy walking path. Good for dogs and kids. If including lower and upper falls, took me around 40 minutes. Upper fall is easy to access but lower fall takes some time to walk to.
