Local Insights

The overlook gets its name from Courthouse Rock, a massive granite formation visible from the viewpoint. Native lore and early settlers often named locations for visual or symbolic similarities, and the rock’s courthouse-like appearance earned its title.

Amazing view. Half of the path leading to the look out is paved. The rest is a moderate trail.
