South Boulder Creek Trail offers a scenic escape. The gravel trail provides a pleasant walking, running or biking experience, it is flat making it accessible for all skill levels. The views along South Boulder Creek Trail are simply breathtaking with perfect views from Front Range and the iconic Flatirons. The prairie dogs lives along the trail and they are delightful to observe. If you're lucky, you might even spot some larger, more elusive creatures – like the bear I once saw.

1st time today (Monday) about 10am • South Boulder West portion, which ends at the Mesa Trail portion loop is flat for 1st mile or so. After that it's uphill 100% consistently but gradually. More then 90% of that trail is full of rocks (average size being the size of a softball) until you get to the Mesa portion. Mesa trail is all tiny gravel. Didn't see recent reviews with this info. so thought it may help. Also, Boulder County permit needed 2 waive parking fee, which didn't have. But, there's sign over a parking fee box near the map (passed parking lot b4 rest rooms) saying during COVID restriction time the fee is currently being waived. HoPPy Trails!
